CDI furler interference
Author Last Post

Dan,

I’m not sure what you removed, since I assume you need the jib block.

I’ve attached some old photos of the mast on #2032, which uses the Harken furler. As you can see, there was some interference between the jib block and the furler foil. I have since lowered the jib block about 2 inches using a U shackle, and that seems to have solved the problem.

I don’t believe I have an issue with the spinnaker block.

Hey Gang,

I race on another Ensign, but cruise on mine so I thought I would install a furler (CDI with internal halyard) this season. Problem is that I see the jib block and tang interferes with the furlers rotation, so I removed. Another issue is that I expect the spinnaker block to cause a commotion above for sure in light conditions. Has anyone come up with a solution for this block? Maybe a extension arm? If so, maybe a photo ?

Thanks much!

Dan
