FYI, I was servicing Lewmar winches that I had gotten new several years ago and used over at least two seasons. When I removed the cover plate I found that about half the aluminum screws that hold the top plastic part on had rusted so badly that I had to drill into them to remove them before I could take the rest of the winch apart. Fortunately I was able to remove them without having to drill new holes. I did email back and forth with Lewmar and their support people did not seem overly concerned that they were using crappy screws in their product. I like winches overall though. I could not find aluminum screws to replace the ones that fell apart and am using stainless steel screws - am asusming that stainless steel in aluminum may not be a great idea and plan to replace those regularly..
